Install Ulissux
Necessary tools
- Ulissux ISO image
- Hard disk
- 1 DVD o USB key
- Burn the Ulissux ISO image to DVD with suitable burning software, then restart the computer with the DVD inserted.
- Once the computer has started, in the main Ulissux screen, select the preferred installation mode: Install (graphic mode) or Graphical install (graphic mode). Both methods involve installing the graphical desktop.
- Enter the necessary information for installation.
- At the Disk Partitioning step , select Guided – use the entire device , then select the hard disk where you want to install Ulissux. Select All files in a partition (for new users) . Select Finish partitioning and write changes to disk . When prompted for confirmation of the operation, Write changes to discs? Select Yes.
- In the Configure the package manager step , at the prompt Use a network mirror? Select No.
- At step Install the GRUB Boot Loader on a Hard Drive , select Yes . Then select the hard disk where Ulissux is being installed.
- After installation, remove the DVD on which the Ulissux ISO image was burned.
- At restart, when the Ulissux screen appears, wait for the start (5 seconds wait), in any case always use the first menu item to start the operating system.
- Download the software necessary for the Ulissux ISO image transfer, balenaEtcher was used in the example . Connect to https://www.balena.io/etcher/ then select the version suitable for your operating system. Proceed with the download and install the software.
- Once the software has started, insert the USB key.
- From the software interface choose the image to transfer ( Flash from file ). Select the device where to transfer the ISO ( Select target ). Start ISO image transfer ( Flash! ).
- Once the transfer is complete, leave the USB key inserted and restart the computer.
- Once the computer has started, in the main Ulissux screen, select the preferred installation mode: Install (graphic mode) or Graphical install (graphic mode). Both methods involve installing the graphical desktop.
